To do or not to do...That is the question...

Well, first off, I'd like to apologize for the absence from the Blogosphere. I'd like to say that since work started again I've been really busy, but in all actuality it's because I discovered Netflix.
Also, because I'm not in school anymore I've had more time to read a few books a week and cook all the time.

I did get a new camera this summer. So I thought I'd show you a few of my old projects.

It was fun to see Whitney and Sara this week as they drove through on their Cali vacation. Although, I was a little disappointed when I found out that my "free" lodgings had only received a four out of five stars.

Garden Update

I feel like my garden is coming along nicely. Although I don't know how to make my zucchini plants grow faster or bigger, any suggestions?

Hopefully I'll have some yummy ripe tomatoes by the end of this month!

These quilts I made by myself and quilted too.. Mom did help me with the binding, I'm a tard and still can't figure out how to sew the last part on.

Once a Year Blog

First off, these are a few comics that I drew of Tennyson and Lizzy's cleaning adventures. A few weekends ago Becky, Noah, and I all went down to Castle Dale for a little fun.
You don't know fun until you listen to a conversation between Ten and Liz about Tennyson's Jedi Cleaning Services.. Let's just say brown Snuggie, and eight foot long scarf don't mix.


These are their stories...

First comic:
Tennyson scrubbing the floor, sweating bullets, she asks: "Lizzy is this clean enough?"
Lizzy's response: "Do you think it's clean enough?"
Defeated, Tennyson replies: "Nevermind"
Lizzy: "You chose the wrong profession if you don't know what clean is"

An Hour Later
Tennyson says: "Whoa, this dish is really dirty!"
Lizzy: "That's because I don't have a cleaning lady that knows how to clean."

Well, these past few months have been...let's just say blah. It's my last semester of school and I am more than ready to be done with all of the homework. My classes are all pretty good this semester, I've just lost the excitement of listening to lectures.

So...I have now started sewing. I have made many quilts, most of which I can't show because they are gifts and I wouldn't want to ruin the surprise.

This is a small stack of some of my projects. Thanks to Mom I have very cute fabric and ideas.

This quilt I have done all my own. The fabric I chose reminds me of Grandpa's house for some reason. I'm thinking it is because of the green carpet in the front room.

It's still an ongoing process..hopefully I can get it done by May.. If only I could whip them out daily (like someone else I know)

This is a quilt I made for my roommate Jami. She is having a baby in May. I made some burp clothes too but I forgot to take a picture of those.

Other than school and work I read Sister's Quilts and, Idaho Farmer in Ethiopia. I look forward to those blogs like you wouldn't believe. I even bookmarked them, and I never bookmark anything. Shelley you're one crazy woman. I can't even imagine life over there. Thank you for sharing it with the rest of us!

And Then...

A while back I was watching a special on KBYU. It was showing women in third world countries and talking about the hard lives they have. It told about how people were giving microlans to these women to help raise their families. (Microloans are very small loans given to people in poverty, helping them to become better entreprenuers.)
After watching this I got so excited to help, I looked it up online and sent a loan to a lady in Peru. Her name is Maria Pascuala, she is married and has three children.

She sells plastic products on the street. After giving her the loan she has been able to double her income and send her children to school.

She wrote me a cute little letter this week "demanding" I come visit her as soon as I can.
