And Then...

A while back I was watching a special on KBYU. It was showing women in third world countries and talking about the hard lives they have. It told about how people were giving microlans to these women to help raise their families. (Microloans are very small loans given to people in poverty, helping them to become better entreprenuers.)
After watching this I got so excited to help, I looked it up online and sent a loan to a lady in Peru. Her name is Maria Pascuala, she is married and has three children.

She sells plastic products on the street. After giving her the loan she has been able to double her income and send her children to school.

She wrote me a cute little letter this week "demanding" I come visit her as soon as I can.

Thank you all for doing the quiz, i know they were hard, I didn't know any of the correct responses either. But I thought they were interesting. I shall be sending the prizes to all those that tried shortly. And I'll post what the answers are too.

Cedar City Woman Cooks!

I made this delicious dish today. You start by layering zucchini and tomatoes.

Then I added summer squash, cheese and salt and pepper.

The finished product.
I got this recipe from Pioneer Woman or Food Network or Ashton Woman Cooks.
They're all so similar I can't really remember.

The sunset as seen from my bedroom window.

I'm looking forward to my Mom and sisters coming down for a few days. Hopefully a play and have lots of fun.

Memorial Day

Today we went up to the cemetery. We picked all of iris we could find.

Sorry that the pictures are turned. I can't figure out how to get them straight. Someone put a cute little potted marigold on Ben's grave.

It's been raining so much this year that everything is very green, and very pretty.

Memorial weekend has been very nice here in emery county. The cemetery was full of flowers and families.

Water Wars

Today at the middle school we had water games. If the kids read three books each quarter and passed their accelerated reader tests they were able to attend. They had chalk drawing...And water sports.... This is a picture of Melissa and James. I work with these two every afternoon.
Along with my cute little friend Jacob.
The janitors turned on all of the sprinklers and I've never seen kids have more fun at school.

It was one very fun and exciting day, and I was exhausted by the time I got home.
